The Neighbourhood & more @ The Ogden, 6/25/14
This was the first (and hopefully not the last) time I got the chance to shoot The Neighbourhood. Honestly, it was everything I want a live show to be. The lighting (all white lights) was absolutely gorgeous and the band was a ton of fun to photograph.
The Neighbourhood also asked for all of the photos to be in black and white, keeping with the same theme of everything they do, and while I was excited about this little rule, I was also really nervous. I'll be the first to say that, as a photographer, I tend to rely a lot on the colorful lights to make my photos pop. I love working with bands who had really bright, colorful lighting setups, and to shoot in just black and white was a little nerve-wracking. It meant that my photos had to be strong on their own, without bright colorful lights to hold them up. Thankfully, I feel like I was definitely up for the challenge. I'm incredibly happy with the photos that I got of The Neighbourhood and I really hope I get the chance to shoot them again soon!
