Skrillex @ Red Rocks, 6/21/14

The first time I shot Skrillex, I was completely overwhelmed. It was my first big show at a venue with a capacity of over 6,000 and on top of that, I'd never shot an electronic show before. I didn't know what to expect (there ended up being a giant haunted house and pyrotechnics) or how to shoot it and looking back on it, I really don't like my photos from that show. Needless to say, it was a learning experience.

That was two years (and plenty of electronic shows) ago, however, and this time when Skrillex came around, I like to think I was much more prepared. Not to mention, the show was at Red Rocks and, since it would only be my second time shooting there, I couldn't pass it up.

Overall, I'm super happy with how my second round of Skrillex photos turned out. The fans at these kinds of shows are always really fun to photograph, especially the guy in the tutu, who you will see a crapload of pictures of further down. And the stage at Red Rocks is low (thankfully) so he couldn't hide behind a booth or his massive space ship and I actually managed to get some cool looking photos that I'm really proud of.
