Favorite Photos of April 2018
April was kind of nuts. It wasn't necessarily crazy busy, but it felt like every single show this month was a challenge. At least it keeps me on my toes, haha. Here are some favorites from this month!
Pale Waves & Inheaven @ Larimer Lounge
What a show to kick off the month! I love shooting Pale Waves, and this one was pretty challenging but very fun. The venue normally allows photographers to stand side stage but didn't for this show, which also happened to be sold out, so I made friends and found a good spot to shoot from in the crowd. There also wasn't much light so I really had to push my camera and am really happy with the results.
Billie Eilish @ The Bluebird Theater
This one was also insane! Take a ton of really excited teenagers and cram all way too close to one another in a small room and you've got a Billie Eilish show. Normally at The Bluebird, you can shoot from a set of stairs on either side of the stage, but they didn't allow it at this show, so again, I made friends with a mom (shoutout to her cause she was a total badass and let me stand in front of her) and shot the best I could from the crowd. Billie is SO FUN to shoot that it honestly doesn't matter where you're shooting from. I could take photos of her every day.
Dashboard Confessional, Beach Slang & Kississippi @ Summit Music Hall
I was hoping for an easy shoot with this one, and while it was really fun, the lights were definitely a challenge! Dashboard will always be one of my favorite bands to shoot and Beach Slang were really fun though, so I walked away with a lot of photos that I like!
Mikky Ekko @ The Marquis
This show was so much fun! Easy lights and an easy crowd to shoot around. Also, Mikky Ekko is a dream to shoot. I love it when artists interact with photographers, so this one was a treat.
Hayley Kiyoko & Jess Kent @ Summit Music Hall
THIS was my easy show of the month. White front lights, fun artists to shoot and only three photographers in the pit. It was a total dream.
Jessie Ware @ The Bluebird Theater
Like Billie Eilish, I wasn't allowed to shoot off to the side at this show, so I camped out in the crowd to get some shots up close. Definitely worth it. Jessie Ware was definitely more laid back and tame compared to some of the other artists I shot this month, which was a nice change of pace and really allowed me to take my time making these photos. It was a great way to end the month.
Dillon & Jordan in Estes Park
I can't forget this fun shoot I did for my brother and his girlfriend (and their adorable pup!) this month. We spent a perfect day up in Estes taking photos and eating McDonalds and I'm so happy with these shots. I need more fun shoots like this <3
