Happiness Is Tour @ Summit Music Hall, 3/4/15
I was looking forward to this show for months. While I've seen Taking Back Sunday quite a few times, I've never had the chance to shoot them, so needless to say, I was excited! On top of that, letlive. are some of my favorite people in the world and my favorite band to shoot, and the chance to do so again was promising. I'd never seen or shot The Menzingers before, but I like them, too, so all in all, it was going to be a good night!
I'm not super happy with my photos of Taking Back Sunday, but I'm not too bummed about it! Shooting was a little difficult due to the fact that all of their front lighting was strobes, and I was feeling a little rusty while shooting them. I still have a few photos that I'm happy with though!
letlive. was an interesting shoot. Before they went on, Jason informed me that they weren't allowing any photographers to shoot from the pit during their set because of limited room on the stage. I know it sounds like a cruddy reason, but if you've ever seen letlive. live, you'll understand why. Their live set is something to be reckoned with, and, having shot them multiple times, I can say that you really have to be on your toes and ready to get out of the way if needed.
I was allowed access to shoot letlive. from the pit, however, which was really cool. Probably the first and last time I'll ever be the only photographer shooting them, considering how they're basically a photographer's dream haha. But I'm extremely happy with my photos! There's a reason why I love shooting letlive. so much!
The lights for The Menzingers weren't preferable, but I'm really happy with some of my photos from their set, as well, especially considering the fact that it was my first time seeing and shooting them!
