Citizen @ The Marquis, 9/15/14
I have such a love hate relationship with shooting at The Marquis. On one hand, I absolutely despise the lighting 90% of the time and feel like a jerk for having to use flash to make any photos salvageable, but on the other hand, I love shooting small venues because of the intimacy between the band in the crowd. Thankfully, the good usually outweighs the bad, and that was definitely the case with this show. I also knew a lot of people at this show, so I was super excited to try to get some shots of my friends in the crowd. (That being said, if you don't see a photo of yourself in here, it's not because I dislike you or didn't try to get one of you, it's probably just because the photo was either blurry, underexposed or badly composed and I didn't want to post it. Haha)
I'd never shot any of the bands on this bill and it was fun getting to shoot each of them for the first time. Shooting a band for the first time can be super tricky because you have to learn how to go about shooting them in a very short period of time, but thankfully I knew what to expect having watched Citizen before.
Overall, this show was a ton of fun to shoot, and on top of that I got to meet and hang out with a bunch of cool people!
