The Story So Far & Elder Brother @ The Marquis, 9/28/14

This was an interesting show. It was a show I'd been looking forward to for quite a while, as well. I was super excited to see and shoot Elder Brother for the first time, and I was really excited to shoot The Story So Far at such a small venue, as I've only ever photographed them on larger stages or at Warped Tour.

Needless to say, this show was a learning experience. While shooting Elder Brother was easy, The Story So Far was a little more challenging. About a song and a half into their set, my external flash started acting up and eventually stopped working, and I was forced to shoot the rest of the show without it. Now, if you've ever tried to photograph a show at The Marquis, you know how awful their lighting can be, so that was interesting to say the least. That being said, though, I still got a TON of photos that I'm super happy with. This show was definitely a learning experience, and it may sound a little cocky, but I'm really proud of myself for being able to adapt to the circumstances I was given and still get some great shots - had this happened to me a year ago, I would have been completely lost.
